![]() More than 80 of Florida's beaches and parks loan special wheelchairs to maneuver on the sand and use on nature trails. There are different types of beach wheelchairs. Some have swing-away or no armrests for easy transfers from a standard wheelchair. Some have umbrellas, drink holders and even fishing pole holders. Most beach wheelchairs must be pushed from behind, but some can be self-propelled by riders with good upper body strength. The beach wheelchairs in these photos are the popular De-Bug chairs by Deming Designs. Check their web site www.beachwheelchair.com for more information.
